Clear Braces Sydney
Clear ceramic braces are a type of orthodontic treatment designed to effectively close gaps, straighten teeth, and correct bite issues. Clear braces use ceramic materials that match the natural shade of teeth to provide a more discreet alternative to traditional metal braces. Just as effective as traditional braces, the only major difference is the materials used. Clear braces are fitted to the teeth and gradually work to align the position of teeth over time.
Ceramic braces are a popular teeth straightening solution for many of our clients at Glow Orthodontics. Durable and effective, clear ceramic braces are subtle and less noticeable - perfect for those who are worried about the appearance of braces!
What are Clear Ceramic Braces?
How effective are clear braces for orthodontic treatment?
Clear braces provide the same orthodontic treatment as traditional metal braces, with the benefit of being more discreet. Clear ceramic braces are ideal for individuals with complex orthodontic issues that cannot be corrected by clear aligners, such as:
→ Malocclusion (misaligned bite)
→ Teeth crowding
→ Overlapping teeth
→ Gaps or spaces between teeth
→ Under or overbite issues
Our orthodontists will examine your teeth to identify the issues that need to be corrected and determine if you are a candidate for ceramic/clear braces. Book an appointment today or contact our team to find out more about our orthodontic treatments.

1. Consultation
2. Clear Braces Fitting
3. Follow-Up Adjustments
Our specialist orthodontist, Dr. Jessica Yeo, will conduct an initial consultation to assess the condition of your teeth. A digital scan is taken of your teeth to create a 3D model of your teeth, which is then used to plan tooth movement for proper alignment.
Dr. Yeo will discuss the best treatment option based on the scans, which may include clear braces alongside other alternatives. The goal is to help you achieve a beautiful smile that will last for the rest of your life.
If clear braces are a viable option, Dr. Yeo will design a treatment plan tailored to your teeth to address misalignment, crowding, or malocclusion issues. You will need to attend a separate appointment to have the clear braces fitted to your teeth.
After the fitting, you will also receive tips on how to care for the clear braces, when to come back in for follow-up adjustments, and an overall timeline for the treatment.
Over the course of the treatment duration, the clear braces will be adjusted to gradually shift your teeth into the right positions. Adjustments will typically take place every 4-8 weeks during follow-up appointments at our clinic.
Dr. Jessica Yeo will review the current alignment of your teeth during these sessions to give you a clearer picture of how the treatment is progressing and support you each step of the way.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can clear braces be fitted on both the top and bottom rows of teeth?
Yes. They can be fitted on both upper and lower rows of teeth for aesthetic effect. A combination of upper clear braces and lower metal braces is also possible as an alternative.
Are clear braces completely invisible?
Clear braces are close to, but not completely invisible — they can still be seen up close. At most distances, however, clear braces cannot be easily seen and provide a natural-looking appearance and smile.
How much do clear braces cost?
Clear braces are more expensive than traditional metal braces, due to the material expenses. Glow Orthodontics will provide you with an upfront quote for how much clear braces will cost after examining your teeth.
Are clear braces as durable as metal braces?
Yes, they are as durable as metal braces. We use a reputable brand of high-quality clear braces (Solventum 3M Clarity brackets) manufactured in the USA.
Do clear braces need to be replaced?
Unlike clear aligners, clear braces do not need to be replaced every few weeks. Once fitted, they will remain fixed in place until the end of treatment. However, there will be regular appointments to adjust and tighten the braces to keep the treatment on track.
How long will clear braces need to be worn?
Treatment duration for clear braces will vary based on each individual case but the general timeline for most patients is between 18 to 24 months. More complex orthodontic issues will result in a longer duration to achieve the ideal outcome.
Are clear braces the same as clear aligners?
No - clear braces and clear aligners (like Invisalign) are not the same. Clear ceramic braces are not transparent like clear aligners, but are more suited to treating complex misalignment issues, such as an underbite, overbite, or severe tooth crowding.
